About us

Shine Collective was founded in 2002 by Melissa and Matt Kirby. Having lived in NY and LA- but moving back to be with family in Baltimore, their experience in fashion, music and film industries left them wanting to bring it all back home. Shine’s original mission was to combine their affection for all of these things along with art and independent designers into one store.

Fast forward to the present day… Shine Collective has grown and evolved. Melissa not only had two kids since opening, but also gained a new partner and more space in the shop to expand. Advertising vet Jamie Campbell joined forces with Melissa in October, 2007 and they both vowed to remain true to Shine’s roots. The love of art, film and fashion remains, independent and local designers are represented and the space is beautiful and constantly changing with the seasons and with their moods.

On January 1, 2010 they relocated to the artist suites in The Foundry at Clipper Mill. They have teamed up with filmmaker Drury Bynum to produce stylized video for the shop and other fashion clients. The new space serves double duty as a beautiful showroom and creative studio.
